A computing term that refers to using 64-bit addressing (2 to the power of 64) or 18,446,744,073,709,600,000 memory addresses (4 billion times more than 32-bit computing). 64-bit addressing is new in Mac OS X 10.4.

Standard for access control on both wireless and wired local area networks. It provides a way to authenticate and authorize devices that attach to the network port.
